Dedicated and involved community members make our city a wonderful place to live and raise a family. Over the sixteen years we have called Davis home I have been deeply engaged with organizations supporting educational, civic, and economic imperatives. Working with these groups has confirmed for me that a well-prepared, experienced, and dedicated person who is willing to build coalitions and strive for the best possible outcome can and will make a difference. I am ready and eager to continue my service to the community as a Trustee for the Davis School District.
I have thirty years of experience as a corporate and startup executive, focused on building, managing and leading teams to analyze problems and innovate solutions. Being effective in a variety of environments requires creating a process to engage the constituents, asking the tough questions, obtaining critical insights, negotiating and building consensus, driving a process to make difficult decisions and finding the best path forward for all involved.
I currently serve as President and Founder of a client services partnership that provides business and strategic counsel to Fortune 500 companies as well as support for early stage companies. We work as partners with clients to define business and innovation strategies, develop operating and organization plans, identify and help secure human and financial resources, and build out their businesses.
I’ve spent ten years on the faculty of the UC Davis Graduate School of Management, developing curriculum and teaching students across all three GSM campuses, both in the classroom and in field projects working directly with regional business leaders. I focus on helping students learn to think critically, solve problems, build successful teams, and establish the leadership and management skills they need to be successful in their careers and their communities.
I’m honored to have recently been named the Interim Executive Director of the UC Davis Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, which is a Center of Excellence at the GSM. The Institute serves as a nexus for entrepreneurship education and research and provides a springboard for entrepreneurial initiatives throughout Northern California.
Family & Community Member
My wife, Dr. Liz Stelow (DVM), and I are deeply rooted in the Davis community. We have sixth grade twins attending Willett Elementary, a dog, two cats, and four backyard chickens.
It is my privilege to serve as the Davis Schools Foundation President, Willett Site Council President, on both the DJUSD Technology Advisory Committee and the DJUSD Strategic Planning Committee, and the Davis Chamber of Commerce as Vice Chair. I have also served as Co-Chair for the Measure H Parcel Tax Citizen’s Committee, Willett PTA President, on the DPNS board, and as a Director of the non-profit business accelerator Davis Roots. I’ve enjoyed coaching both boys and girls AYSO teams since our twins were in U6.
