Endorsed: the Stranger

Joe believes that schools must be more than buildings—they should be thriving centers of community, learning, and support. Looking ahead, his priorities as a Director include:

Centering Equity in Every Decision: Work relentlessly to close the opportunity gap by building systems that truly serve historically under-served students.

Funding with Integrity: Champion policies that secure progressive, long-term funding streams for public education. Joe believes we cannot cut our way to equity—we must invest in it.

Building Trust with Families: Double down on understanding and addressing enrollment loss. What’s pushing families away? What can bring them back? Joe is committed to rebuilding confidence in the district through transparency, accountability, and results.

Protecting Programs That Work: Continue to defend, strengthen, and fund programs like dual language instruction, special education inclusion, Highly Capable services, and option schools that give students diverse paths to thrive.

Community-Led Vision: Ensure that the strategic plan and superintendent leadership reflect the values and priorities of the community, not just top-down mandates.

Responsive, Accountable Leadership: Joe believes that leadership starts with listening. He will continue to hold the superintendent and district leadership accountable to community feedback, student needs, and measurable outcomes.
